Prayer

Matthew 5:44
"But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you

Mark 6:46
After bidding them farewell, He left for the mountain to pray.

Luke 5:16
But Jesus Himself would often slip away to the wilderness and pray.

Luke 6:12
[ Choosing the Twelve ] It was at this time that He went off to the mountain to pray, and He spent the whole night in prayer to God.

1 Thessalonians 5:17
pray without ceasing;

Wow. How important is PRAYER? And how often do we overlook it? Prayer is so INCREDIBLY strong! It is a necessity to keep prayer VITAL in our lives. Pray for one another...pray CONTINUALLY!

Remember this as you go about your day today.

God bless!

Philosophical craziness

So me and my friends were having a conversation the other day about philosophy.  For us that seek after Christ, how much philosophy is TOO MIUCH philosophy?  Meaning, how much can you study it before it just becomes dangerous?  Personally, I think there are two different levels when it comes to the study and learning of philosophy.  It doesn't actually become a dangerous concept until you actually start PARTICIPATING in the art itself.

You see, one can study philosophy without actually ENGAGING in philosophy.  I can study about Kant's reformation of metaphysics through epistemology without actually partaking in the reformed concept itself. What does a one seeking solely after Christ gain with this sort of engagement?  It is best to simplify your thoughts to simply "engaging Christ."  The end.  Nothing else to it.

So all this to say.....ENGAGE CHRIST.

Moss

So I'm a sports guy too so I also wanna write about headlines that might bring up conversation...

So Randy Moss officially became a Tennessee Titan today after the Vikings released him after some very troubling issues.  After reading what Moss has done, I'm not convinced at all that he will fit with the Titans.  Sure, he's got major talent, but talent alone won't help a team to a super bowl.  And another thing to consider, Moss is just about out of his prime so from now on, he'll be declining.  But anyway, we all know chemistry is a major concern among a team as well.  If things keep going the way they're going with Moss' attitude, then I don't see this working at all.  Attitudes like his will destroy chemistry.  But the question is, has this been a wakeup call for Moss?  Situations have changed and this SURELY has to be a kick in the face for Moss.  I dunno....we'll see.....

This blog...

I want to start blogging.  I want this to be for a numerous amount of things.  A brothers and sisters, I want you to be encouraged by a lot of these blogs.  I want other blogs to make you think.  I want them to spark discussion.  It's good for you!  So I'm glad you're reading this right now...that makes me happy!  But I also want you to comment on these.  Discussion doesn't start until those thoughts in your head are brought out.  So come back frequently!  I will do everything I can to be a consistant blogger.  Thanks!
